Jess Lowe is an award-winning, first-generation Costa Rican/American filmmaker based between New York City and Los Angeles.

Since 2019, she has headed the US office of Fresh Film Productions as Executive Producer. Fresh is a global, female-led production company where Jess proudly represents a diverse roster of directors.

Over the course of her career, Jess has produced commercials for household names like Dove, Maybelline and Target and music videos for celebrated artists including Radiohead, Mitski and Maggie Rogers. She also produced the experimental multimedia film experience The Bomb, which premiered as the closing selection of the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, and They Saw The Sun First, which won both a BAFTA and a Webby in 2021.

As a director, her work includes the film The Opening Address, which premiered as opening selection at 2025 Mountainfilm Festival, along with commercials for brands like Living Proof and Madre Mezcal and award winning music videos for artists like Brandi Carlile and Cid Rim. Jess is currently directing a feature-length documentary now in production.

When she’s not on set, Jess is likely somewhere outside: hiking, camping, or inside: salsa dancing :)
